Brown New Plays Festival is holding open auditions for
THE STRANGLER
By Joe Waechter MFA ‘10
Directed by Jesse Geiger MFA ‘09
THE STRANGLER is a ridiculously serious play about family, marriage, murder, sex, death, love, fear, food, teenagers, religion, parenting, desire, growing up, growing old, feeling conflicted, feeling violent, and ultimately, the desperate things you’ll do for happiness.
CASTING:
JIMMY - 17 year old sentimental handbag that’s posing as a bad boy. Think Keanu Reeves idolizing James Dean. Kind of vapid, but like totally well meaning.
MR. THOMPSON - middle aged, classic dad type. He’s got a dark, violent side that comes out, but is ultimately subdued by his wife. In the end, he trades his cardigan and slippers for submissive slave fetish wear.
AUDITIONS:
Saturday February 28th from 12-3pm
For more information or for sides, email jesse_geiger@brown.edu.
